This is the questing board. If you want a power for your character, then they must come here to be given a quest by one of the spellcasters, or, if you're lucky, one of the gods. Powers are gained in the form of feathers, which become part of the fur. The more feathers you have, the more powers you have. When you have a power, you will still be learning how to use it. You will start off as a trainee. Once you have mastered the power, then you will become a master. If you are truly strong, then you will become the ultimate master.

Quests will usually, most probably, be in the form of a riddle or a steal. The powers available are listed below.

Flame Feather: a vivid fire coloured feather. grants the bearer power over the element of fire.
At a trainee stage you can influence fires. you can change the direction and size of a fire to an extent. you can create small fires but they will generally not be much bigger than a bonfire. You also have a higher resistance to heat although larger and hotter flames will burn.
Once you've mastered the feather, you can create any size fire from scratch, you can change height, size, heat, ferocity etc of any fire. you are impervious to heat more so than at trainee stage, but still only to a certain extent.
Weaknesses - well, the obvious one is water. if it's raining, fire is completely useless. when swimming it is the same. a fire cannot be started on marshy ground or beaches. fire will also take a while to get burning again if it is put out. however, winds and ground material can help a fire grow.

Wind Feather: a very pale and light feather. grants the bearer power over the element of air.
At a trainee stage you can influence wind and air patterns. you make a breeze blow harder or a gail blow softer. you can also change the temperature of the winds slightly plus you can create small winds. you can also stand the cold more than most.
Once you've mastered the feather you can create small hurricanes and tornadoes. you can dramatically alter the temperature of the air. you are also impervious to colder extremes than all others.
Weaknesses - having the air feather means you are very claustrophobic. you also need a little concentration to use your gift but you can lose concentration very easily. the power of air can also be restricted by the power of earth.

Sea Feather: a light sea-foam blue feather. grants the bearer power over the element of water.
at the traunee stage you can only influence water. you can make ripples and small waves. you can keep something dry from the rain by slightly changing the path of nearby rain. you can also breathe under water for a short while.
Once you master water you will be able to create water, make larger waves, completely move medium sized amounts of water, make it rain, and create small water spouts.
Weaknesses - water is not so easily used and controlled in very hot weather. although water can put fire out, if the fire is hot enough, it may be able to evaporate the water. earth can absorb water but the water is still there so it is actually an advantage.

Earth Feather: an emerald green and wood brown feather. grants the bearer power over the element of earth.
at a trainee stage you can move small rocks and blocks of earth that would be too heavy for anyone else. you can also keep plants and trees healthy and heal minor cuts and wounds.
Once you've mastered this feather you will be able to create small earth tremors, you will be incredibaly strong and you will be able to heal wounds that in humans, would require many stitches. you will also be able to influence the growth and health of flora. [plants and trees]
Weaknesses - the power of earth is not so strong against fire. fire burns earth and weakens it. air and water can slowly whittle away earth, but in truth, the earth is still there, just in smaller peices. earth is a very stubborn element and so has much stamina.

Psychic Feather: a deep purple feather. grants the bearer power over the mind and associated things.
at a trainee stage you can influence the thoughts and feelings of others. you can be very persuasive and also, you find it very easy to guess what another is feeling. you can sometimes guess what they are thinking as well. you can move small objects with the power of your mind although this is very draining on your energy.
Once you've mastered this feather you have full use of the skills of telepathy and empathy. you can also move larger objects with the power of you mind, although it is still an energy-draining task.
Weaknesses - although stong with your mind, you are likely to be weaker in body. you can also get confused by all the thoughts and emotions that you catch off of others.

Shadow Feather: a pitch, onix black feather. grants the bearer power over the shadows and stealth.
at a trainee stage you can darken your fur to melt in with the darkness. you can make your tread completely silent. you can also use darkness to blur someones sight for a few seconds.
Once you've mastered this feather, you can copletely dissapear in the shadows, all scent, sight and sound hidden from others. you can also draw in darkness to make a place darker, or, with much effort and energy, completely dark.
Weaknesses - the obvious one is light, those with shadow cannot stand bright light and are weak against lightning. they are often also social outcasts, although this is not really a weakness.

Lightning Feather: a pale white, grey and blue-purple feather. grants the bearer power over lightning and electricity.
at a trainee stage you can create small electric shocks over your form, so that when you are touched, you give out a small shock. you only get minor burns from a lightning strike that would normally kill another, indeed, lightning storms leave you feeling very healthy and well.
Once you've mastered this feather you can create painful shocks which you can also direct at another, so they don't have to touch to be shocked. lightning strikes only leave you a bit sore and storms can help heal you of injuries.
Weaknesses - water can cause lightning to short, weaken and go out of control. earth can absorb the effects of your lightning and negate it. but, lightning is very strong against shadow.

Spell Feather: a honey gold feather that seems to shine with vibrancy. grants the bearer the status of a spellcaster.
this is a very rare feather that is only given out by the gods. it is given to worthy creatures who have high favor with the gods. the feather gives those who have it power over all the other feathers, but they will have a particular strength and a particular weakness. this is the most powerful feather and if you ask for it, you won't get it.
Weaknesses - this feather has no weaknesses, unless you count the area that the holder is weakest in. even then, they will still be stronger than one without the feather.
