Thick fields of wheat and barley surround the old monastery, overgrown from a lack of harvesting. In the summer, the terrain is a bright golden brown. Spring and fall turn the fields a lush green and spots them with white flowers. Winter is white and gray, dead and silent.

Friends. Believe it or not, she had those these days. Two, to be exact. A third if someone counted mates. To some wolves, this would seem like a lacking social life; to Cortana, it was a luxury she'd never had before Wolf Mountain. Tail and head high, the pink and white wolfess jogged through the frosty valley of tall grass, pink cores sweeping the terrain for a particular pock mark. She'd never been to Katannah's den, but today was a sepcial occasion. Word got around quick, especially when you were one of those people who seemed to be everywhere at once.
The fem's pink cores froze on a dark spot visible through the white highlighted wheat, ears pricking for noises. It was quiet, but sure enough signs of life were present. A familiar collie, flaxen in color, jogged into view, stubbed off wings and all. Cortana's smile turned to a grin and she vanished, re-appearing before the dug out hole in the blink of an eye. The wolfess brushed passed the collie and stood in the center of the large room, knowing full well she was interrupting alone time.
She faced Lestat first, toothy grin visible and tail giving a few pleasant flicks. "Well, hello there, my Dark Lord," Cortana jested, a dramatic bow added to her act. When she looked to him again, the fem was smirking. Oh how she wished the collie would get off his goodness kick, she prefered the derrange warlord, it was more fun. Either way, though, he was considered friend.
Without waiting for a response, Cortana turned toward the other fey, a smile on her face. "So what's this I hear I get to be a sister-in-law?" She asked, head tilted and tail giving another pleasurable flick. It wasn't that she wasn't one already, but the in-law siblings she had were distant and often times she really didn't consider the fact that they existed. These pups, however, were going to be brandy new and born into her homeland. It could be fun.... maybe.
